What We Do

EFA-SL is a network of CSOs that has been working for overtime in all 16 districts in Sierra Leone, and brings together different sectors of civil society organization to foster alliances, conduct research, work with youth and young people and empowering them to speak up and advocate for inclusive and positive change in education with development partners, CBOs and support government ministries to promote education on the political agenda. Since its inception in the last 20 years, the coalition has been engaged in a numerous activities and actions.

Key priorities of the coalition include the following:

• influencing policy actions for an inclusive and gender-responsive education
• providing the space/ platform for local education development discourse
• mobilizing rights-based education campaigns
• engaging in policy and people centered education advocacy
• research in context specific grey areas in education,
• building a critical mass and developing actors’ capacity to actualise education
• membership mobilization and capacity strengthening
